Canada's political tax credits system allows you to make a major impact on the future of our country at a low after-tax cost to you:

75% tax credit on donations up to $400
50% tax credit on donation amounts between $400 and $750
33.3% tax credit on donation amounts over $750
Maximum of $1,700 to EACH of the national party and local EDA (your national donations do not reduce your local limit)

Let's take a look at what this means for different donation amounts:

A donation of $100 would only cost you $25 after taxes
A $500 donation would cost you $150 after taxes (75% of $400 + 50% of $100)
A $1,000 donation would cost you $442 after taxes (75% of $400 + 50% of $350 + 33.3% of $250)
